Her school has the "Golden Rocky" program. Rocky is their school mascot. He's an American bald eagle. Rocky has a set of rules called "Rocky's Rules". If they do something extra nice they get a golden rocky. When they get 10 golden rockies, then they get to see the principal, Mr. Y. In his office is a treasure chest where they can choose anything they want.
Nobody in her class has been to see Mr. Y yet so they don't know what's in the treasure chest but she has 8 golden rockies now, 2 more to go. She's pretty psyched about the whole thing and she keeps telling me that she tries and tries.
In her class, they have a reading program. Her homework folder has a sheet of paper where she writes the books that she read that night and once she fills up the page, she picks a book from the book treasure chest. To date, she has 3 books from the chest. She borrows 2 picks from the library everyday.
They also have an art treasure chest but I'm not exactly sure how it works though. She loves her art class. Whenever she takes home an artwork from school she proudly shows it to me. If you ask her who her favorite teacher is, she'll say Ms. R, her art teacher.

End of 1st quarter
The other day, we had a parent-teacher conference. Ms. C said that she is just a wonderful child. Academically, she's doing good and we don't need to worry about anything. In fact, her reading skills are above average. On Fridays, she goes to what they call "Reading Count".
According to Megan, they go to the library for the reading count and choose a book they want to read, but not a very long book, just a short book. When they're done reading it, they go to the computer and look for the book that they just read and they get quizzed on what the book was all about.
On the 22nd, they will have a Thanksgiving Luncheon and they have will have a play. She's going to be one of the narrators. =). At first she said she was going to be one of the pilgrim women but she wanted to be the narrator, so I told her to ask Ms. C if she can be the narrator instead. The next day, she came home and she said, she will be one of the narrators, but she didn't have to ask Ms. C, Ms. C just said that she's one of the narrators.

Playmates
Meg absolutely loves our new house or I should say the location of our new house. She has lots of playmates. Across from our house is an old classmate from Kinder, Quentin and his brother Reese. Next to Quentin's house is Cassie's house. She's 7. Next to our house are the K kids, Kaylee, Keegan, & Keiran. Ages 10, 6, & 3.
Unfortunately, we moved at the wrong season. It's getting cold outside, most kids just play inside. She's getting over her shyness though. Now, she knocks on neighbors' doors and ask if they can come out and play. Yes, she loves it here!
