Actually

Word of the day

ac·tu·al·ly adv.
1. In fact; in reality: That tree is actually a fir, not a pine.
2. Used to express wonder, surprise, or incredulity: I actually won the lottery!

How was school?
It was good. We had centers, actually, I had housekeeping and painting. And, actually, blah blah blah, but, actually blah blah blah.

Song of the week

All around the kitchen
cock-a-doodle doodle doo
All around the kitchen
cock-a-doodle doodle doo
And you stop right here (AHA!)
Put your hands on your hips
Slip one foot out (?)
Cock-a-doodle doodle doo

Now, imagine, me, her, & daddy out in the backyard with sticks in our right hand, strutting round in circles while singing the song. Are you laughing? So, we were doing this when a lady walked by an gave us an amused smile. That's not embarrassing, right? But, if you take into consideration that our fence is low enough that you can see me & daddy but high enough that you won't see Megan, what would you be thinking?

the mole

Look, Joey, a mole hole. She said as she stepped on a mound of earth.
Moles bite you. Joey said matter of factly
No, they don't.
Yes, they do. If you dig them up and they come out, they will bite you.
Gopher never bites Pooh Bear.
BOINK!

Another one,

Joey, don't go in there.
But I want to. Joey proceeded to go.
Joeeeyyy. with a foot stomp
You are so bossy! You are not the boss of me. (think husband & wife arguing)
I am not bossy. she yelled as she ran off and then turned around and said
I don't like it when you call me bossy! Don't call me bossy.

Ahehehe

say hello to the friends you meet

week in review

Very first trip to library for her this week. The book she borrowed was "The goose who almost got cooked". She liked it, she said there was a lot of books in it, mommy. And I can take them home, too.

First school trip was in Santon Forest.

Also, first PE class. I couldn't figure out what exactly they did.

weekend

Why do I need a break from school?
Because, you need to rest for a couple of days.
But, I don't want to rest.

How long will it last? I keep asking that question. I enjoyed school but hubby didn't. Will she take after me or hubby?

collection

stones & sticks ...

... and now leaves, too. She's now coming home with pockets filled with her treasures.

Yesterday, was her first school trip. They went to a forest to observe season change. When asked about the trip, she said, "I know what this blue thing is for now" pointing at the inside of her wrist. "It carries blood. The leaves have one, too and those carries water." She showed me a bag filled with leaves and nuts. "I collected these at the forest. Ms. D said it's OK to pick them up."

naughty!

I think she had her first taste of "stand by the wall" yesterday. She said she didn't get recess, instead she stood by the wall and have to be quiet. We asked her if she got in trouble and she said, "No, Ms. D said that I needed to be quiet." Hehehe. So, I was curious on what she did, but her account of the events leading to standing by the wall was hazy. This much I got out of her, she wasn't alone, 3 boys were standing with her. She stood by the wall the whole recess so she didn't get to play with Joey.

bully

Are the kids in school nice?
Yeah, except this one kid, he's mean to me.
How is he mean to you?
He keeps pushing me.
Well, that's not nice.
Yeah, he pushed me 10 times. He pushed me while I was in line and he pushed me in the slide, too.
Did you tell him to stop?
That's not how you do it, you have to say "Don't push me."
Well, did you tell him not to push you?
Yes, but he did not listen.
Did you tell Ms. D that the boy is pushing you.
Yes, but he's got this yellow thing in his ear and he can't hear Ms. D.
Well, next time, if you see this boy come near you, just play with something else.

Our conversation two nights ago. Last night:

So, was Jonathan mean to you today?
No. He's nice to me now.
What happened?
We talked.
What did you talked about?
About good stuff, friends, good languages, and not pushing.
Well, that's nice.
Yeah, now he's my friend.

I'm glad that one got resolved pretty quick.

toothfairy

she lost a tooth today. A first for her. It's been loose for quite sometime now and I had a suspicion that she would lose it at school. Good thing, she put it in her pocket so now she gets to put it under her pillow for toothfairy's first visit to our house.

A little background, weeks ago, I noticed a little white thing at the back of that front tooth and at first I thought, she broke skin or something. After a little investigation, I found out it was a tooth coming out and a tooth was loose. We called the dentist, I feared that this would ruin her teeth and later on in her teenage years, she would have to wear braces. I even told husband, "I ruined our daughter's life." The dentist said to let it naturally fall out and not to worry, the tongue will push the new teeth out.

dear god

It used to be

Dear God, please give me & mommy good dreams and keep daddy safe.

Then, one day she missed the schoolbus, so she added

and please wake me up early in the morning so I won't miss the bus.

Yesterday, Joey missed the bus, so now it's

Dear God, please give me & mommy good dreams and keep daddy safe. And please wake me up early in the morning so I won't miss the bus. And Joey, too.

*amen*

here comes the bride

Mommy, when I grow up, I'm going to be a mommy. And Joey, he's going to be a daddy.

Oh, yeah?!

Yeah, We'll get married and have babies.

To each other?

Yeah. And, oh mommy, we'll need lots of flowers for the wedding. And I will wear a white dress.

Hmmm... I wonder.

buzzing bees

bzzzz...
i'm bringing home a baby bumblebee
won't my mommy be so proud of me
i'm bringing home a baby bumblebee
Ow! it bit me

Even 5-year old suffer from last song syndrome. She's been singing this song since last Wednesday and as I'm typing this entry, she looked at the monitor and said "Bzzzz..." and started singing it again.

Note: Did you know that lss is contagious? I'm singing it, too. =)

a formal introduction

if I knew that I will give birth to little she-devil on the 15th of Feb, I would have taken those inducing things, so her birthday would fall on the 14th. Not because I'm a valentine freak but because I love the color red. Connection? I don't know!

The whole birthing itself though was pretty painless for me. It was the after where I had problems. You know how they say motherhood will all come naturally, well, it didn't for me. But that's a different story.

Her bestfriend is Joey, the boy next door, literally. They play all day, from sunrise to sundown. They walk to the bus stop together, sit on the bus together, they play at lunch together, they walk home together and play again all afternoon. They do a lot of things, well, together. They fight all the time but would always make up within 15 minutes.
