Meg doesn't know how to speak Tagalog. She knows "sige na", "pala-utot", and "kili-kili". She asked me if I can teach her how to speak Tagalog. I introduced 5 words to her vocabulary: tulog, gising, kain, inom, and ligo.
Last night, as we were getting ready for bed, I have the dryer on. Our dryer buzzes 10 minutes before the set time is up and it buzzes off again after 5 minutes, then when it's done, it buzzes off again for the last time and then turns off. So, the dryer goes off as we were reading a book, then again as we were finishing the book, and once again as I turned off the light, and Megan goes "Mommy, make the dryer go tulog."

talk to her in tagalog...read her those tagalog children's books...now that it's still early. this pinoy guy at the dentist ba, he's fluent in french, spanish, tagalog and english. children absorb quickly.
I hoped that her trip to PI would help her but didn't happen. It's kinda hard speaking both in Tagalog and then translating it to English, I feel so redundant. But, probably not to her.
i have a reverse problem, I'm trying to get my kids to speak fluent english. Kasi naman i didnt realize that kids here in davao speak english na (minority for us during our school days! mga sosyal lang dati diba) Now baka sila na ang minority... what i did was i let them watch all these american movies and voila ... mejo nagokay na sila... but still...
