day after tomorrow
Mommy, are we going to the Philippines the day after tomorrow?
Yes, Meg.
Mommy, will the reindeer store open the day after tomorrow?
Yes, Meg.
Oh. Mommy, can you email them in the Philippines and tell them we're not coming the day after tomorrow cause I want to go to the Reindeer store.
But, Meg, we have the plane tickets already. And, if we don't go to the Philippies the day after tomorrow then, we won't be able to go at all.
OK, I guess we can go to the Philippines the day after tomorrow.

parties
Over the weekend, she went to 2 birthday parties. Saturday, she went to Rachel's. It was nice, they painted ceramic animal. She chose to paint a zebra. She painted it yellow with brown stripes.
Sunday, it was Chase's & Jacob's parties. Since the times were overlapping, I told her she can only go to one and she chose to go to Chase's. She had fun. She played with Caelon, the only other kid in her class.
We've been brain-storming where her's will be. We don't have a lot of choices here. It's either the bowling alley, skating rink, dome leisure center, or skills development center (where they had the ceramic painting). She hasn't decided yet where, well, we still have 2 months.

barney's dead!
tic tac toe in a row
Barney got shot by GI Joe
Mom called the doctor, the doctor said
Ooopppps, Barney's dead
Shot in the head
Hahahaha! I laughed so hard when I heard Megan sing this. We asked her who taught her this song. I'm pretty sure, it wasn't in class. She said it was Heather from the bus. She said that when Josephine, Heather's friend, didn't ride the bus, Heather sat with her and taught her that.

Are we not going yet?
Look outside, what do you see?
Fog.
Yeah, the bus will be late for 2 hours because of the fog.
When is it not gonna be foggy?
In 2 hours, Meg.

happy birthday, daddy
The other night, we left a muffin at the table for Daddy, we couldn't find a cupcake, and birthday cards for him. Since I forgot to buy a candle, Meg said, to write to daddy to blow out his pretend candle.
We went to Chili's at Cambridge for dinner and it was OK. That's it.
We woke up really late this morning. She's going to be late.

End of November
OK, November, with all it's days off & holidays, is not good with establishing a routine. The 15 days that she had school this month was pretty much a real pain. And I can't blame her. I don't want to get up, too. Plus, it's still dark when I wake her up in the morning and even when were walking to the bus stop at 7:30.
But... yipee!!! December! 8 more days and we're off to the Philippines. She is so excited to meet her cousins. By the way, she thinks she only has 2 cousins (Dad side), she's in for a big surprise.
Tomorrow, is Dad's birthday. We're thinking of heading out to Cambridge for Chili's or Chevy's, IF we find it. This afternoon will be her gymnastics christmas show. Oh, she won't be performing with her class. Her class is doing the springboard and she can't do it yet. It's kinda hard. Instead, she'll be doing the routine with the other class. But, she doesn't know the routine.

pumpkin pie part II
Last night, at the dinner table,
Meg, elbow off the table.
Why?
(Dad) Cause it's rude.
She starts whining, we tried to explain to her why but to no avail. Dad got upset and accidentally put his elbow on the table.
Daddy, elbow off the table. Hehehehe
Just when we have 2 slices of the pumpkin pie left,
Mommy, I was just kidding when I said I don't like pumpkin pies.
So, do you want one?
Yes.
I think, you just want whipped cream.
No, I do like pumpkin pies.
We gave her a slice with a whole bunch of whipped cream on top. I guess she does like pumpkin pie.
(Dad) If I take the whipped cream off your pie, will you still eat it?
*she scowls* NO!
As I was putting her to sleep, I hear this ripping sound. She ripped Eeyore's tag off.
Megan, what are you doing?
I was... I was... I can't explain it.

day after thanksgiving sale
nothing!
Absolutely nothing! We wasted 3 hours at the store looking for some good sale but sad to say NONE. So, she bought a pony castle toy. Like she needs more ponies or castles.
She watched Van Helsing with Daddy. I couldn't watch, I was too scared. She's like me, she'll run out of the room when scary soundtrack is on or she'll cover her eyes and peek.

pumpkin pie
Mommy, is the pumpkin pie ready?
In 30 minutes.
Mommy, is the pumpkin pie ready?
We have to wait a couple of hours for it to cool down.
Mommy, is the pumpkin pie ready?
Let's check. Yeah, I think it's ready.
Mmmm, it's good Mommy.
You have to eat the pie, Meg. Not just the whipped cream.
Can I have some more whipped cream?
Take a bite out of your pie first and then you can have more.
Yuck! I don't like pumpkin pie.

big words for big girls
She borrowed a dinosaur book from the library. On our drive home, she was narrating the book to me. Here's some of it:
The dinosaurs were fearless.
A Tyrannosaurus Rex is a "mean-eater".
The volcanoes were blasting up through the sky.
There were dinosaurs with long, humoungous necks.
A triceratops has three horns on their heads.

weekend in review
She went to Taylor's birthday party on Sunday but before we go to Sunday, let's go back to Friday. We went to the toystore to get a gift for Taylor. So, off she went looking for the perfect gift for Taylor. At first, it was Oh, look Mommy! Taylor will like this. And then, it was,
Mommy, can we get this?
Do you think Taylor will like it?
It's not for Taylor, it's for me.
But, Meg, we're here to get a toy for Taylor.
I want to get a toy for me, too.
OK, you can get something, get something small though.
I don't want something small, I want something big.
We'll see.
So, what was supposed to be a quick stop at the toystore turned into an hour. She takes forever choosing a toy.
Saturday, we stayed home. It was too cold to go play outside. She played inside. Then, she went upstairs to my bedroom.
Mommy, it's cold in the living room. I'll close your door so you won't get cold.
It was extremely quiet downstairs so I went to check up on her. She excitedly ran up to me,
Mommy, mommy, the kitty came inside our house.
What kitty?
Uly, he's inside.
Meg, Uly's not our cat, he can't come inside.
(I took Uly out)
Meg, don't let the kitty come inside, OK?
OK.
I knew she was up to something. I went back upstairs. After an hour or so, I heard the cat again.
Megan, did you let the kitty in again?
No, it came in by itself.
And how did he do that?
He made a hole in the dining room.
What hole?
It's a big rectangular hole.
Are you talking about the door?
But, mommy, he wants to come inside and play with me.
So, now, the kitty's hanging out our backyard, meowing, waiting for Megan.
Sunday. Taylor's party was at 4 pm. All day, from the moment she woke up, it was,
When are we going to Taylor's party?
What time is Taylor's party?
Where is Taylor's party?
I must have read the invitation to her a thousand times.
Mommy, can we get this?
Do you think Taylor will like it?

rest time
Ms. D said that she's a very quiet child. Except, during rest time. I told Ms. D that she did mention being moved away from Madison. Well, it seems like she found somebody else to speak with.
So, who are you talking to during rest time?
I don't talk to anybody.
Ms. D said that you found somebody to talk to.
I don't talk, I whisper.
So, who do you whisper to during rest time?
Jesse.
I see, you know rest time means quite time.
But, Ms. D can't hear us.
Then, how does Ms. D knows?
(she shrugs)
(Dad)I'm seeing a pattern here, Meg. When you were next to Madison, you guys were talking, now that you're next to Jesse, you guys are talking. What does it mean?
That kids like to talk to me...

progress report
We had the parents-teacher conference yesterday. For the special subjects, the marking codes are: + - shows strength; P - participates; and / - more participation needed. For Art & Music, she got a + and for PE & Host Nation, she got a P.
Her end-of-the-quarter worksheet consisted of listening comprehension, logical reasoning, math, identification of colors, upper case & lower case letters, numbers, phonics, & patterns.
Listening comprehension: She was told a story and she had to re-tell the story. There were 8 facts in the story and she got all 8 facts right and in the right sequence. Hurray! Ms. D said that while she was retelling the story, she'd pause after every fact and think what comes next.
Logical Reasoning: Identify the object that does not belong to the group and state why it doesn't belong. This is fun. There were 10 groups. The first four, her reasoning was simple, e.g. it's not a fruit. Later on, it was "It's a horse, these are dogs." And then, instead of just stating the obvious reason why it's different, she saw other details that made it different. The mittens, hat, and scarf are green and the boots is yellow, she said, not a thing to wear, you walk with it. The other throw pillows were round, she said, it doesn't have a dot (button). She was the only who noticed this.
Identification: She identified most although I think she could do better. She only counted up to 22, I know she could count up to 100. She identified 101 though. For Phonics, none at this time, which surprised me since I've heard her doing it. The reason why it was none at this time was she didn't know what Phonics is. Hahahaha.
Patterns: There were 3 patters, AB, ABC, & AABB. She identified AB and ABC. Then she was asked to draw a pattern and identify it. Her pattern was "B A B A B A" and called it an AB pattern.
Math: First she drew a family portrait, then Ms D asked her questions about the portrait. The portrait consisted of me, her, her sister, Kaysa, & her big sister. Dad wasn't in the portrait cause he went to the grocery. Ahahaha.
She has a journal at school. What they do is, Ms. D tells them a story then they draw something from the story and write a caption. Ms. D helps them with the other words. Ms. D commented that she is such an artist. Her pictures are very detailed. There was this one picture she drew of herself painting. In front of her was an easel and it wasn't a blank canvass, she drew something in the canvass, too. She has paints in the easel, too.

We bought a hoola hoop yesterday. Here she is trying it out. She was getting frustrated, it keeps falling down. She finally got a couple of spins and she was very happy.
Look, Mommy! Look, Daddy! I'm doing it!
This morning,
Mommy, Mommy, come look!
What is it?
Hurry, hurry, I'm doing it.
Look at you, it's not falling down anymore.

goodbyes
Did you know that Joey is going to the US?
Yeah, he told me.
He left today, did you get to say goodbye to him?
Yeah, we gave each other a big hug the other day.
Are you going to be sad?
No.
Why not?
Cause Christian is still here, Sophie is still here, Robert is still here and Alex is still here.
You know, when Joey gets back from the US, we won't be here, we'll be in the Philippines.
To our Philippines?
Yes.
Are we going around the world, too?
Huh???
You know, first we drive the car to the airport, then, we ride the airplane, and then the airplane goes around the world to the Philippines.
Oh, is that how you get to the Philippines?
Yes, and the US, too.

uly & luna
She likes cats.
Uly & Luna are cats in our neighborhood. They're not strays but they might as well be. Our walk home from the bus stop includes a stop at Luna's. Luna would come up to her and ask to be petted. Joey doesn't like this.
C'mon, Megan. Let's go.
Wait, Joey!
I'm not waiting for you so you can pet that stupid cat. Meeegaaan! Let's go.
OK. I'm coming. Bye, Luna.
The cat's name is not really Luna. I'm not sure if "Luna" is a girl. She got the name from Sailor Moon.
Uly, on the other hand, is really named Uly. He's Christian's cat. They live across the street. Uly would come over our house and poop in our backyard. Uly and Luna look alike. Unfortunately, I don't know what breed they are. They have long, dark brown & black, fluffy hair and they have squeeshed faces. (Hahaha! Does that help?) At first, I thought they were one and the same but Meg corrected me.
This is Luna, Mommy. See how her paws are white and she stands up when you pet her. Uly is bigger and he lays down when you pet him.
I see.

school break
Her school break starts today. She was pretty surprised when I told her that she will have 6 days off from school. Unfortunately, we can't really go anywhere since Daddy is on a trip.
Mommy, why is Daddy working? I don't have school.
This is one of those days that Daddy still has to work even though you don't have school.
Why?

of candies, peaches, & puppies
A package from Aunt N came and Meg got Haribo (it's like gummi bears). She opened the fruit-flavored and proceeded to sample each flavor. She bit into one that was green and made this really sour face.
Mommy, this one tastes funny.
I just had to laugh, it reminded me of when she was a baby. I bought this peaches-flavored baby food and she made that same face, with a shiver at the end. HAHAHAHA!
Now, for the puppy part of the title.
What book did you borrow from the library?
I got "Biscuit".
Cool!
I got them for you Mommy cause you like puppies.
(Joey) I thought you don't like puppies?
Yeah, but my mommy likes puppies, so I got her this book.
She's so sweet.

Kaysa
Mommy, Kaysa is my pretend sister. And, she goes to a pretend school in a pretend bus.
Does she have a pretend teacher, too?
Yes.
And who is her pretend mommy?
She doesn't have a pretend mommy, she has a real mommy. You're her mommy. (hahaha)
So, where is her pretend bedroom in our house?
She doesn't have a pretend bedroom, she sleeps in the living room. (Poor Kaysa)
Well, what about the purple bedroom? Can't she have that as her bedroom?
Yeah, she can sleep in the purple bedroom. But, you know what Mommy? When she can't sleep, she sleeps with me.
Wait a minute, so, if she can't sleep, she sleeps with you. But, when you can't sleep, you sleep with me. So, who is Kaysa sleeping with?
*She thinks really hard* But, she won't be alone, she's sleeping with my toys.

Where you guys at?
At the end of the road, we can see the bonfire from here.
Are you going?
Yeah, Meg wants to know if you're coming.
(background) Mommy, we can see the fireworks!!!
Dinner's not ready yet. You guys go ahead.
She's so sweet. So thoughtful.

to the dentist
she had a dental appointment yesterday to seal her molars and to fill one molar with a cavity. I know, she's too young to have a cavity, but oh, well. A little story that happened at the waiting room. There was another little girl, I think, she's about 3 or 4. They were playing together and this girl was just giggling so hard, I have no idea what they were talking about but it must be really funny.
Back to the procedure, she had laughing gas. It was a matter of making it as painless as possible so she won't be traumatized. Then, local anesthesia was applied around her molars and finally, she had general anesthesia on the one molar with the cavity. I can't believe how brave she was, she didn't even flinch when the general was administered.
It took about 45 minutes and she actually fell asleep. Hehehe. Snoring and all. Here's the thing though, it wasn't cavity. It was some kind of a fluke. I didn't really understood what the dentist was saying, all I cared about was it wasn't cavity. So, she's still cavity-free.
Asked the dentist about her 2 permanent teeth coming out. They're coming out crooked and behind her baby teeth. It looks like her jaw is too small for her permanent teeth so the scenarios are: 1. She's still growing so her jaw might adjust to compensate for her bigger permanent teeth, 2. When she loses more of her baby teeth some permanent teeth might not come out, 3. When she's older and 1 or 2 didn't happen, she might have to wear braces, =(.
Her 2 upper front teeth, they're loose. She might lose them in the next month or so. All I want for chrismas is my 2 front teeth.

lumpia-making
Her endless chatter as I was making lumpia (eggroll) yesterday:
mommy, what are you making?
what are you doing to the carrots?
why are you squeeshing them?
what's the vinegar for?
Oh, why do you need water?
why are you using water as glue?
can you teach me how to make lumpia when I'm older?
can i fold the lumpia like that?
how many lumpia do you have now?
when i grow up, who's going to be my daddy?
i mean, who's going to be the daddy of my daughter?
i told joey to meet me at church when we're older, but i don't think he's gonna come.
we'll fall in love, and get married, and have a baby.
mommy, is tomorrow school?
oh, right, i have 3 days off.
daddy doesn't have work when I don't have school.
why does daddy have to go to work tomorrow?
mommy, can i close the curtains?
why do you want to see the view?
what's a view?
and on and on it went, she even counted from 1 to 100.

trick or treat
trick or treat
smell my feet
give me something good to eat
she went trick or treating and hahaha, she won't knock on doors with skeletons or anything scary, jack o'lanterns are fine, though. She did knock go in this one house with scary stuff since they were giving away glow-in-the-dark bracelets. After 30 minutes, she said she's tired and she wants to go home.
meg, next year can you be something else?
I'll be a ballerina next year.
What about something scary?
NOO!!! I want to be pretty.

baby cakes
Her first day in the new gymnastics class today and they were practicing a routine to the tune of baby cakes. She's the youngest in a class of 6. The other kids in the class are Alex, Rochelle, Kayla, Taylor & Samantha. I'll try to write the routine.
First, they're in a straddle position (sitting with legs wide apart) elbow on the floor, hands cupping their face while head swing(?) side to side. Then, to tuck position hands still cupping their face, from here they turn to their side, ala mermaid to their knees and stand up, turn 180 degrees and do a forward roll, turn another 180 degrees, walk 4 steps in tippy toes, then they do cartwheels one by one. When everybody has done cartwheels, side step, arms up like a star and a little booty shake (hehehe, this is so cute). Turn again, to straddle roll. Then a hand stand, walk to left side, then they do another cart wheel.
She has to practice her cartwheels & hand stand.

glenics bionics
we have a new game in computer center, mommy. It's called glenics bionics. She's a girl and she lost her kitty and puppy, and shoes & coat. And we help her find it.
First, she puts on her glasses so she can see very far. And then she puts on her shoes but they're big on her cause it's her mom's big flip flops. And then she goes outside and she finds her kitty and puts it in her purse. And then she finds her puppy and she puts it in her purse, too.
Then, we go inside and look for her coat. And she needs her umbrella because her coat doesn't have a hood. And then her kitty & puppy are stuck together, like this (puts hand together). Ms. D has a looooot of glenics bionics.

reward
Friday night
daddy and I talked last night and we thought that since you were doing so good in gymnastics that you'll get a reward. So, what do you want to get? You can buy one thing, a toy, a book, clothes, or shoes.
A toy. A cooker toy. It's big like this, and it's got a green door, and you can cook on it, just like my housekeeping center.
We'll see. How about if the cooker toy is less than 50, we'll get it. But if it's more than 50, you're gonna have to find something else to buy.
OK, can you write that down?
Why?
So, we'll remember.
Don't worry, I won't forget.
Saturday morning
Daddy, daddy, wake up.
What?
Let's go to the store and buy my cooker toy. (It's 8 in the morning))
Meg, it's too early, the store's still close.

gossip
The girl with the yellow hair and pink coat, her name is Alexis.
Oh, yeah...
Yeah, she goes to the big school for big kids. And she has a boyfriend, she sees her boyfried everyday at her school.
How do you know all these?
Cause she was talking to Amber.
Oh, so you were eavesdropping.
Yes... what's eavesdropping?
Eavesdropping is when you're listening to somebody else's conversation. It's not polite to eavesdrop, ok?
But, I wasn't, she was talking to me, too.

school day
When we get to school, Ms. W picks us up at the bus. Ms. W is Joey's teacher. And then she takes us to the patio where our teacher is at. If my line is still there, I go to the back of the line, if it's gone, the teacher with the glasses, takes me to my classroom.
Then we go inside, I have to zip my mouth cause there's no talking in the hallway. And then we hang our backpacks, then our jackets & coats. Then, inside the classroom, we put our lunch box into the basket. Thumbs up if you have lunch money or lunch ticket, then, Ms. D2 takes it.
We go check what centers we got. Thumbs down if you don't have a center. If you don't have a center, you go to your table with your color. Then, you go to your center. Thumbs up if you have toys in your center. Then, when your done with your center, you go to your book area. Thumbs up or down if you have a book in the book area.
Then, we read our book. It could be Jack & Annie, Bear Hunt, I can be, I can, too, Where's my Cat?, My family, uhm, I forgot the rest. Then, after book area, we go to dress up center. But, you have to go to a different room for the dress up center. Thumbs up or down if you have put everything away in the dress up center.
We go to the cafeteria for our lunch. (Mommy, was your cafeteria big when you were a child? How small was it? Is it this small? This small?) When you need help, you have to raise your hand.
After lunch, we go back to our classroom and get our towels and go to the area where we usually sleep. My area is at the right side of the yellow table. Serena is at the left side of the table. Your towel must not touch anybody else's towel.
After rest time, we get our backpacks and put it on the chair. Then we go to the mail area and get our mail, then we put it in our backpacks. Then, when we're all packed up, Ms. D calls out our bus number, then Ms. D2 takes us to our bus.
That's it, I'm tired, I'm going to sleep now.

forgive & forget
well, the sun didn't come out yesterday but, at least, it wasn't raining. So, she asked if she can play outside, and off she went. Two minutes later, she came in.
I'm not playing outside anymore!
Why? What's wrong?
Joey called me names.
What names did he call you?
He called me a banana and dipstick.
Huh!
So, she ate her breakfast and even before she could finish her bowl of cereal, Joey comes knocking at the door. She opened the door.
After breakfast, can you come out to play.
I was gonna say, I'll just finish my breakfast.

need . . . sunshine . . .
it's been raining since Tuesday and she's been cooped up inside. No playtime during lunch, instead they've been watching movies. After school, more indoors for her, joey would come over and they'd watch TV or play in her bedroom.
Looking at her and joey reminded me of my brother & sister. They fight about everything but can't bear to be apart. They fought about who will use the red crayon first or which movie to watch. They even fought over a paper airplane. And, of course, making them a different airplane didn't help.
joey, stop it
megan, won't let me play with her airplane
mommy, joey's being mean to me
megan, won't let me help her
it's my turn
no, it's my turn
and so it went, all afternoon. when it gets unbearable, I say the magic words
do you need a break from each other.
i hope it won't rain today, they really need to play outside.

sleep talking
she talks in her sleep.
sometimes, she'll be laughing so hard like daddy is tickling her.
or, she'll be giggling like keri ann is whispering something amusing to her.
or, she'll be yelling no like joey is doing something she doesn't approve of.
couple of nights ago, she couldn't sleep very well. she keeps whining and saying i want mommy, I got up and checked up on her. she's moving around her bed as if her bed was on fire. she's kicking her blanket like it was attacking her.
what's wrong?
my knees hurt
where does it hurt?
over here (shows her left knee and pointed at an invisible booboo)
it's not bleeding
ok, can you kiss it? (mwah)
then, she went back to sleep.

dad and dinosaurs
a rarity, dad home on a weeknight
mommy, what's a pterodactyl?
i'm not sure, i'm not really fond of dinosaurs.
oh, i remember, they have wings like this (spreads arms and flaps) and horns at the back of their forehead and they have long mouth and spiky teeth.
i see. i think i know what pterodactyl is now, i only know of T-Rex.
T-Rex are mean.
why are they mean?
cause they eat blood.
p.s.
i'm thinking of moving here, what do you think?

mommy, my hair is short.
uh-huh.
when my hair gets long, i'll get a haircut so my hair will be short again.
oh no, hun, can we let your hair grow for Auntie A's wedding?
why does everybody wants long hair for Auntie A's wedding?
cause it's pretty.
mommy, Auntie A's hair is long and M's hair is scruffily...
what is scruffily?
scruffily, you know, like my baby's hair, scruffily...
hehehe, I still have no idea what scruffily is.

bear hunt
first, you have to put your hands on your knees
then, when I say grass, put your hands together and rub your hands
when I say water, say splash, splash, splash
when I say mud, go (insert walking on mud sound here)
when I say cave, say I see eyes, then say I see claws
OK? Repeat after me!
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,
Uh-uh, I see grass (mommy, put your hands together, "I am")
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,
Uh-uh, I see water (splashy sounds)

Uh-uh, I see mud (mud sounds)
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,
Uh-uh, I see cave,
(I see eyes, I see claws)
RUN!!! It's a bear!
To the mud!
To the water!
To the grass!
Open the gate! (pant)
I don't like bears!
I'm not scared of flies,
I'm not scared of bees,
I'm not scared of spiders,
I'm not scared of sharks,
I'm not scared of dolphins & whales!
I wonder if the last part is still part of the story.
then, when I say grass, put your hands together and rub your hands
when I say water, say splash, splash, splash
when I say mud, go (insert walking on mud sound here)
when I say cave, say I see eyes, then say I see claws
OK? Repeat after me!
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,
Uh-uh, I see grass (mommy, put your hands together, "I am")
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,
Uh-uh, I see water (splashy sounds)
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,
Uh-uh, I see mud (mud sounds)
We're going on a bear hunt,
we're not scared,

of columbus day
mommy, is tomorrow school?
no, hun, no school tomorrow.
but, why? Tomorrow is zero day. (on weekends, she counts down the days till school)
yes, hun, but tomorrow is a holiday, so no school.
Oh!
the story about columbus
columbus men didn't like columbus. now, when it was morning columbus said, time to work but they didn't wanna cause they didn't like columbus. so they tried the other plan when it was night, they ate dinner. they showered themselves and they went potty in the bucket and then went to sleep. (insert snoring sounds here). when it was morning time, they throwed the pee out of the bucket into the water, they had to wash the floor like this, (insert splashing sound here) and then they wash the walls, (you have to type wishy washy, "i did already", i don't see wishy washy, spell wishy washy) when they were washing walls it got night and then they ate dinner again, and showered themselves again and brushed their teeth again, and then they went to bed, and they peed again. When they went to bed, they were thinking of throwing Columbus into the water but not yet, columbus said, "3 more days" when they got to the beach, they'll throw Columbus in 3 more days. When they saw the beach, there were fruits, there was banana trees, and orange trees, and grapevines, and potatoes everywhere, it was pretty nice but they didn't know who was watching it when they got to the beach in 15 hours. When they got to Francis they didn't know what's people was over there in Francis. ("What's Francis?" Francis is a big, big beautiful world. "Are we still talking about Columbus?" I am talking about Columbus.) When they got to the beach, they throwed Columbus into the beach and they had a nice day in the beach and they didn't know who was watching the beach. And then when Columbus was in the water he turned back a little bit, back and back and back and back. Columbus knows who was watching after beach, it was the indians, the indians were watching after it, not a woman, but boys was watching it. And that's the end.
no, hun, no school tomorrow.

book fair II
I was wrong. She only bought two books, Norman Bridwell's Clifford's Best Friend & Vera Rosenberry's Run Jump Whiz Splash. And she gave me back the change, too.
Another tooth fell out Friday, but the toothfairy didn't come Friday night so she tried again last night. Well, this morning, when she woke up she was so happy, the toothfairy came. Look, mommy! she came, she came. And she gave me 3 coins! (1 pound and 2 50 p coins) Next time, I lose a tooth, I'm gonna get 4 coins! (1st tooth she lost, she got 1 coin, 2nd tooth, she got 3.)

birthday party
In the birthday party, there was bowling. I like bowling. Because when I don't miss the balls, I didn't let them get stuck, they were free. And I liked to bowl with shoes! And the shoes were pretty.
I ate sandwich, french fries, i mean chips, ice cream and cake. The cake was like Nemo and it got rings with it, beautiful Nemo rings. There was 6 candles in the cake. and I liked the candles, there was pink, blue, and orange. I liked the birthday Nemo cake.
Kayla, Madison, Rachel, Erin, Tino, Cooper, Chaise, Jacob, Juan, Caelon, and Zack were there. We were eating cake, bowling, and then we went home.
The end.
As told by megan

book fair
Ms. D said that I need money to buy books today.
The book fair is today, huh? Do you want me to go to school and help you choose a book or do you want to buy a book on your own?
I'll buy a book by myself.
How much money do you think you need?
Hmmm... 30
30? That's a lot of money, hun. What about I give you 10.
But, the books are really expensive.
she thinks for a moment, I have no clue what was going thru her head but she said, OK, I guess 10's ok
I wonder what kind of book she'll get or if she gets one. It takes her forever to choose a book. I didn't have a 10 in my wallet so gave her a 20 instead. Then, told her that, she has a 20 but she can only spend 10. Hubby laughed as I was explaining this, she doesn't understand the concept of money, yet. But, who knows, kids are smart. I doubt though if I get my 10 back, I bet, she'll come home this afternoon with her backpack filled with books.

good morning
Daughter does not have any kind of routine prior to school. It was, sleep whenever she wants and wake up whenever. As first day of school approached, I tried to get her in some kind of routine which fell apart. Fortunately for everybody involved, she adjusted to sleeping early. It's just the mornings are difficult.
6:45 my alarm goes off. I go to her bedroom, turn on her CD and hope against hope that this will wake her up. Go downstairs and get her breakfast ready, which isn't much, all she wants for breakfast is her strawberry chocolate milk.
6:50 go back upstairs and wake her up. And it goes like this, good morning little toes, are you awake? She'd wiggle her toes. good morning little knees, are you awake? She'd bend her knees. and so it goes, all the way up to her head. Lastly, good morning megan, are you awake? and then I tickle her. Sometimes, it works, sometimes, it doesn't.
7:00 her alarm goes off. Crunch time, on days that above strategy doesn't work, this is when coaxing begins which sometimes leads to hard core threatening, my last resort.
7:15 finally, she's ready, we head downstairs and as she drinks her breakfast, I get her snack and lunch ready. (good girl point - 1: she takes her cup to the kitchen and puts it in the sink)
7:25 walk over to the bus stop, it's not that far, 5 minutes tops. But, man, oh man, is it BRRR cold in the morning. Wonder what it would be like come winter.
7:30ish bus arrives and her and joey boards the bus and take forever to put their seatbelts on, and off the bus goes.

ahahaha!
She finally admitted. She did get a timeout two weeks ago. From our conversation last night,
Mommy, Joey got a timeout.
Oh, yeah, what did he do?
Long story about how Joey got a timeout.
So, did you get a timeout at school?
NO! Well, a little bit timeout.
Oh, yeah, what happened?
I had to stand by the wall and be quiet.
I know that already, but what did you do? Why did you get a timeout?
Well, I wasn't being quiet.
Oh! Were you talking to somebody?
Yeah!
Who were you talking to?
Madison.
What were you talking about?
About stuff and people.
I see. Did Madison get a timeout, too?
Yeah.
So, who else got a timeout?
Me, Madison, Zack, & Jacob.
Hmmm, so what were you talking about?
I told you already, people and stuff.
Like what people and stuff?
And here's what she said, "Blah, blah, blah, blah. There are you happy now?", which cracked me up.

Mommy, I'm not gonna sit with Joey today. she announced this morning.
Why? I asked.
Because I wanna sit with the girl who gave me the butterfly thing.
As they were walking towards the bus, she said
Joey, I'm not gonna sit with you today.
Whhyy?
she mumbles her reason to Joey
Pleeeassse!

grounded
She got herself grounded today.
Last night, she didn't want to come inside. She said, she's not done playing with Joey, yet. So, she cried and whined and when she finally got inside the house, threw a tantrum. When she finally, calmed down, she promised that she'll be a good girl from now. So I told her, for her to get ungrounded, she'll have to keep her promise and be a good girl today, the whole day.

friends
Serena, Aaron, Madison, Jonathan, Taylor, Jacob, Samantha, Dino, John-john, Kelly, Matthew, & of course, Joey.
Meg, hit that guy and say "Steeler sucks!" She then hides behind Dad and clings to his legs as she peeks at the guy as he approaches us. Dad and guy talked about football and as guy leaves, she asks, Daddy, is he your friend? Dad answers, Yes. to which she replies, Then, why did you want me to hit him?

Actually
Word of the day
ac·tu·al·ly adv.
1. In fact; in reality: That tree is actually a fir, not a pine.
2. Used to express wonder, surprise, or incredulity: I actually won the lottery!
How was school?
It was good. We had centers, actually, I had housekeeping and painting. And, actually, blah blah blah, but, actually blah blah blah.
Song of the week
All around the kitchen
cock-a-doodle doodle doo
All around the kitchen
cock-a-doodle doodle doo
And you stop right here (AHA!)
Put your hands on your hips
Slip one foot out (?)
Cock-a-doodle doodle doo
Now, imagine, me, her, & daddy out in the backyard with sticks in our right hand, strutting round in circles while singing the song. Are you laughing? So, we were doing this when a lady walked by an gave us an amused smile. That's not embarrassing, right? But, if you take into consideration that our fence is low enough that you can see me & daddy but high enough that you won't see Megan, what would you be thinking?

the mole
Look, Joey, a mole hole. She said as she stepped on a mound of earth.
Moles bite you. Joey said matter of factly
No, they don't.
Yes, they do. If you dig them up and they come out, they will bite you.
Gopher never bites Pooh Bear.
BOINK!
Another one,
Joey, don't go in there.
But I want to. Joey proceeded to go.
Joeeeyyy. with a foot stomp
You are so bossy! You are not the boss of me. (think husband & wife arguing)
I am not bossy. she yelled as she ran off and then turned around and said
I don't like it when you call me bossy! Don't call me bossy.
Ahehehe

week in review
Very first trip to library for her this week. The book she borrowed was "The goose who almost got cooked". She liked it, she said there was a lot of books in it, mommy. And I can take them home, too.
First school trip was in Santon Forest.
Also, first PE class. I couldn't figure out what exactly they did.

weekend
Why do I need a break from school?
Because, you need to rest for a couple of days.
But, I don't want to rest.
How long will it last? I keep asking that question. I enjoyed school but hubby didn't. Will she take after me or hubby?

collection
stones & sticks ...
... and now leaves, too. She's now coming home with pockets filled with her treasures.
Yesterday, was her first school trip. They went to a forest to observe season change. When asked about the trip, she said, "I know what this blue thing is for now" pointing at the inside of her wrist. "It carries blood. The leaves have one, too and those carries water." She showed me a bag filled with leaves and nuts. "I collected these at the forest. Ms. D said it's OK to pick them up."

naughty!
I think she had her first taste of "stand by the wall" yesterday. She said she didn't get recess, instead she stood by the wall and have to be quiet. We asked her if she got in trouble and she said, "No, Ms. D said that I needed to be quiet." Hehehe. So, I was curious on what she did, but her account of the events leading to standing by the wall was hazy. This much I got out of her, she wasn't alone, 3 boys were standing with her. She stood by the wall the whole recess so she didn't get to play with Joey.

bully
Are the kids in school nice?
Yeah, except this one kid, he's mean to me.
How is he mean to you?
He keeps pushing me.
Well, that's not nice.
Yeah, he pushed me 10 times. He pushed me while I was in line and he pushed me in the slide, too.
Did you tell him to stop?
That's not how you do it, you have to say "Don't push me."
Well, did you tell him not to push you?
Yes, but he did not listen.
Did you tell Ms. D that the boy is pushing you.
Yes, but he's got this yellow thing in his ear and he can't hear Ms. D.
Well, next time, if you see this boy come near you, just play with something else.
Our conversation two nights ago. Last night:
So, was Jonathan mean to you today?
No. He's nice to me now.
What happened?
We talked.
What did you talked about?
About good stuff, friends, good languages, and not pushing.
Well, that's nice.
Yeah, now he's my friend.
I'm glad that one got resolved pretty quick.

toothfairy
she lost a tooth today. A first for her. It's been loose for quite sometime now and I had a suspicion that she would lose it at school. Good thing, she put it in her pocket so now she gets to put it under her pillow for toothfairy's first visit to our house.
A little background, weeks ago, I noticed a little white thing at the back of that front tooth and at first I thought, she broke skin or something. After a little investigation, I found out it was a tooth coming out and a tooth was loose. We called the dentist, I feared that this would ruin her teeth and later on in her teenage years, she would have to wear braces. I even told husband, "I ruined our daughter's life." The dentist said to let it naturally fall out and not to worry, the tongue will push the new teeth out.

Mommy, when I grow up, I'm going to be a mommy. And Joey, he's going to be a daddy.
Oh, yeah?!
Yeah, We'll get married and have babies.
To each other?
Yeah. And, oh mommy, we'll need lots of flowers for the wedding. And I will wear a white dress.
Hmmm... I wonder.

Note: Did you know that lss is contagious? I'm singing it, too. =)

They fight all the time but would always make up within 15 minutes.
